Knowing Self - THE BEGINNING

Imagine a salesman who knows only the name of the product that is to be sold. How hard will it be for him to answer when the probable customer asks him Why should I buy your product?

Is that happening with us too? World demands us to sell ourself but, do we really know ourself? Lets check out? What will you say when asked Why should we hire you? or Why should i marry you? or Why should we be friends?

These questions normally take a lot of time to answer. Which indeed shows how well we know ourself or rather how well we DONT know ourself !!!!!

With years of research TEJGYAN FOUNDATION has come up with a simple theory to know oneself. Mr. Nitin Ahir (tejgyan foundation) conducted a wonderfull session in which he told based on the behaviour humans can be Analytical, Driver, Expressive, Amieble.

Analytical - These are those people who are task oriented and do not open up quickly. These are the people who normally have a very structured approach towards everything. They are a lot focused, soft spoken and quality conscious.

Driver - These are the people who are task oriented and do open up quickly. They are born leaders, can make quick decisions, competitive, self-reliant. The prefer driving people from other quadrants.

Expressive - They are people orineted who talk a lot. They adapt to changes very soon. They are creative in nature, do not hesited to take risk. They keep on trying new things. They like speed in their work.

Amiable - They are people oriented who do not open up quickly. They are always ready for friendship, build cohesive teams, loyal diplomatic, empower others.

The real challenge is when two people from different quadrant interact with each other. The likes and dislikes are different for everyone. Example:- An analytical person would not like when someone says that he/she is wrong. To have a good conversation with the person from other or same quadrant as ours we need to know the likes and dislikes of the quadrant to which the person belongs.

Anxiety - THE HIDDEN CULPRIT

Many of us come across times when we feel like we are standing on quick sand !!!  Not having a slightest idea what to do? Whether that be when someone asks a tricky question or on a big stage when asked a simple question (like your introduction) in both cases one gets the same feeling of going back in time and pull himself out from getting into such situation. Sounds simple, isn't it? But fortunately there is no time machine in this world !!

Many believe that in such situation knowledge about the content that is to be spoken is enough. But in reality the listener concentrates on how confidently one speaks. This makes him believe on the speaker even more when he/she speaks confidently. I would say the importance of the content, and the confidence in speech (which includes all basic communication skills) complements each other to certain extend.  It is always a right combination of both would make the speech awesome.

Traditional approach to overcome anxiety is by practice/experience. The more you face the situation the more confident u will be. But can we afford this approach in today’s demanding and competitive world? One might not get the best job if he/she thinks that he will improve as the interview go by.

We must be well equipped to handle new and challenging situations. Even the wrong moves must reflect certain confidence. We must know the exact situation around us. Along with that one more thing of utmost importance that is KNOWING SELF.

DREAM - ' A Crystal Imagination '

Is it possible to Dream at your will? Or is it possible to control your dream? Let us find out.

DREAMS - One can say it is an imagination of ones mind in an unconscious state.

It is difficult to prove that we always dream when we are sleeping. But many have agreed that a person sees a lot of dreams but can remember only few. Many a times I have observed that we remember the scenes from the dream which happened just before we wake up. And it’s a tuff ask to remember what happened before, isn’t it?

There are some common things which are observed in everybodies dreams like flying, failing, falling, birds, being chased.

The million dollar question is does Dreams say something?

Ancient cultures of many countries interpret dreams as a medium of communication with god. People do what they see in dreams thinking that that’s what god wants them to do. Sounds scary, isn’t it?

In modern world dreams are well defined but only theoretically. My favorite part is when we are able to interpret ourself depending on the dreams that we see.

Some of the common dreams and its interpretation:

1) Flying: symbolizes exceptional ability, confidence and liberty.

2) Failing: represents fear of loss of control

3) Being chased: suggests childhood fears, present pressures, threats.

4) Birds: suggests desire to be free.

Dreams keep on changing everyday. Human mind likes to explore. Probably thats why we see new dreams or rather continue from one scene to other. So the dreams that u see is mere a reflection of what u were feeling a day before.

Well, all are welcome to test these by themselves. Next time u see a dream related to flying, check if u were feeling confident of most of things a day before.

Superstition - UNFOLDED

To what extend would u go to test the reality behind superstitions?

Will u, if u were pregnant would have the guts to stand straight in the line of solar-eclpise rays? (just to prove them wrong). Dont worry u dont have to do this, if u use your wits.

Superstition whether it worked or not it certainly kept religious folks busy.

Even now, some say they know its stupid but why should they take a chance.

So what is it all about? Can we make an absolutely new superstition right here right now. Answer is yes.... but the only difference between the new and the traditional ones would be the extend of its popularity. Imagine an instance where u wanna make your colleague believe that whenever your girlfriend watch u play volleyball u perform terrifically bad. You can’t even score a single point. That would certainly be too much to take-in for your friend. He would rather believe that u get nervous pretty soon. Obviously your friend proved that he is living in the 21st century (where there is a reason behind everything).

But what if the same instance would have occured decades ago... Certainly with some changes... may be while playing kho-kho instead of volleyball and your newly-married bride around your corner instead of girlfriend would sound more real. Congratulation u would have just created a superstition of your own if we were couple of decades back.

So what made it work decades ago and is not making it work in today's world. Yes, Education does play an important role. Your colleague knows the reason that may have caused your failure. That’s when he thought that 'YOU WERE NERVOUS'. But there is 1 more thing that people tend to forget. One may not follow your believes blindly in today's world. They need to know the reason behind before they believe anything. Cheers!! for the Y-GENERATION. In Old-days people would believe what others believe and there wouldn't be any second thoughts about it. It was more like having a "DRIVEN BY THE CROWD" attitude. Due to this it turns out quite easy to spread the superstition by any common man.

But the question is, were the superstitions created purposely by people? ANSWER is No. There is one more very common tendency of a common man (which still exists in u and me) that’s the tendency to blame or hold someone accountable for. How we try to blame something else for our failure "like aaj din kharab tha thats why i dint do well". Or how we hold something else accountable for our success. "Like in the thank-you speech after winning an award".

To sum-up all it was easier for the people to blame their failure on an innocent cat who happened to come across their way rather than themself.
